Mike
I sent you a direct reply, but couldn't resist responding to Ron.

Boy do I second his comment. More than 40 years as a ham and I didn't
realize what I was missing by not getting some kind of scope jury rigged up.
And they have been technically possible for the full 40 years!

I do some contesting S & P (search and pounce) and from what I can tell, the
scope will be worth every penny of the extra cost. Even for just casual
operating, I have found it addicting. My biggest complaint is that to use
some of the other 756RPOII features (like memory CW keying), you have to
switch the scope off the LCD and replace it with the menu for the other
feature (e.g. memory keying). So, I am going to use a PC for the memory
keying just to be able to keep the scope always on the LCD.

Mike, I own a PRO and have used the base 746, so this is not an apples to
apples comparison. However, go to E-Ham reviews and decide for yourself.
Once
you use the display on the Pro or the Pro II, you will NEVER able to be
without one....
