Dave,

In an Icom HF transceiver, the internal PTT reed relay operates whenever the
transmitter is keyed. There is no option for turning the relay off. If you
can hear that tiny reedcapsule click through the radio chassis and cabinet,
you must have better hearing than MacGyver (my dog)!

I can barely hear the relay when operating barefoot; with the Quadra
in-line, the amplifier cooling fans (and T/R relays) mask the relay sound.
