[Icom] IC-735 Problem

I had a similar problem on my IC-765. The problem was in the DC to DC
converter on the display board. The solder on the pins in the module were
cracked making an intermittent connection and allowing the 5 VDC rail to
wander. And this 5 VDC supplies the Voltage Controlled Oscillators for the
phase locked loops. Don't know if the 735 has a similar module but if it
does...
The problem is/was that the holes for the pins on the module and the holes
for the pins on the display board may or may not be precisely aligned so
when you install the module on the display board you may have to bend the
pins for a fit. And in a few years you have a cracked solder connection.
