Hi George:

	I am planning on using it with my Icom 735. It is specifically mentioned
in the manual. So, I assume that the 735 doesn't have the smarts built in.
It has
been pointed out to me the newer radios support it directly. I have also
inquired on
Bob Groves site about the surplus one they have. It appears to still be
available.

What radio are you planing to use with the AH-2 - You may not need the
control unit - most if not all of the newer Icoms use the AH-2 direct - if
it has the plug on the back that is the same as the input to the AH-2, the
control unit is almost certainly built in to the radio -
