Yeah I used one of these in the motorhome for about a year.
When it squatted, I couldn't even get Astron to answer my
Email.
I queried a reflector, and got a response from a commercial
user/ham. His company had abut 40 of those switchers and was
experiencing a 25 - 30% failure rate.
I would NOT recommend an Astron switcher to anyone for any
purpose.
So far the Alinco 30-amp switcher is working FB...<fingers
crossed!>

I have been using an Astron SS-25 with my IC-706MKIIG and
have no noise or
other problems. It is about the same size as the rig and
lighter. Makes a
great traveling companion for the 706.
