I suggest you try decoding the W1AW scheduled RTTY transmissions.  I ran
into a similar problem with my 756PROII , but because I can decode (some of)
the W1AW transmissions completely, I have concluded it is due to my receiver
settings being different than those of the station I was listening to.  And,
since I know nothing about RTTY, I have left the receiver settings alone for
now.  Some day, I will get into RTTY, but for now, it is not on the radar
screen.

Speaking of RTTY, I was playing with RTTY on my PRO and have set per the
manual but I never can get it to read like I thought it
would/should,,,everything is run together, Any idea what I might be doing
