I would be interested in knowing what your interest is in transmitting on
other the ham bands. Anyway, to transmit in the 1.8-30MHz region of the
band, you need to pull the -mute line out of the connector on the RF card on
the left side of the rig. If you have the manual, check the schematic for
the line labeled -mute. This line is pulled low by the micro controller
when the radio is tuned to non-ham frequencies. This will disable the TX
buffer amplifier. All you need to do is pull this pin out of the connector
cable header going to the RF board.

| I am looking for information on how to transmit on the general coverage
| portions of the IC-751A. I also have a problem on 10 metres which can only
| be described as a swooping noise which drifts up and down the band. It
| seems to appear when the radio has been running for a short while.
