If anyone wishes to contact me privately at [email protected] I have an ICOM
R-70 from an estate of a good friend. It has the ESKAB PLAM (phase locked
AM detector) board installed by myself many years ago plus a few other mods
(preamp on MW etc) and seems to be functioning well. His comment when
others wanted to buy it from him was similar to that below. To our loss,
the radio has outlived him.

I would rather not go thru the gymnastics of putting it on e-bay so drop me
a note privately with your offer. I'll be away from my e-mail for a day or
so don't expect instant replies. There is also an R-71 (fairly stock)
available as well if you feel inclined to perhaps make your own
comparisons.......

I have had an r70 since 1982 and I love it Its a terrific receiver and Ive
had a lot of them. Talking to others all have said they were sorry they sold
their 70 and went for the 71. Mostly that it did a better job all around.
just seemed happier"
hope this helps Ive been offered top dollar but wont part with it
