The PROII works exactly as described in the manual, whereas if I am in FM
mode and hold the split buttom for more than a second it offsets the second
VFO (bottom display freq.) the amount in the FM Split 50 option and sets
that to the TX freq. The same is true on HF using what is stored in FM
Split HF.
Note: you have to be in FM mode for the automatic split to change the freq.
on the second VFO. You won't see the freq. change from RX and TX like you
do some rigs with single freq. display. The top freq. is your RX freq. and
the lower freq. is your TX.
It is not clear to me what is not working for you? Maybe you are not
holding in the Split key for more than a second while in FM to establish the
offset freq.?
