I have owned an ICOM 745 with the FM unit, but not the Internal Power =
supply for about 20 years. It still works well but does need a receiver =
alignment and since I never had the lithium battery replaced that should =
probably be done too, but so far it has not been needed.
I really have no complaints about it. It has done a good job on all =
bands, the FM side worked well, cw was good, PSK31 was fine, packet, =
etc.
Power output is about 100 watts and the speech compressor does a good =
job...if you adjust it properly.
I use to do a lot of contest work with it and it never failed.
Sensitivity was good, but those plastic caps need to be tweaked up to =
get the sensitivity back to where it should be, but it still hears all =
it needs to.
So I can recommend it.
Oh, one part that was a disappointment. Unlike the 735 it cannot be =
controlled by your PC. Was not a big problem but it was something to =
complain about.
Hope this helps
Bob
