[Icom] ic-756 pro 2 - 6 meter tuner self destruct

Hi Larry. The bottom line is this; to protect your auto tuner on 6 meters
turn the auto tuner auto start features OFF with the page 70 menus, this
includes the PTT and QSY auto start feature. You can still manually tune
with the front panel tuner button on all bands including 6-meters. The
manual for the 756, 756PRO, and 756PROll all state auto tuner auto start
is for "HF only" and they mean it. The only "warning" in the PROll manual
is on page 49. The good news is that the out of the box menu settings for
both were OFF on my PROll. For some reason and it appears to be frequency
related the relay will rupture and the tuner is locked on 6-meters. Hope
