[Icom] Icom 756 Pro II and which mic to use.

Larry, I like the Heil HMi mic and also have the Goldline using it
sometimes.

HMi

WIDE POS
EQ  -2 bass    +4 treble
Mic gain 10 o'clock
if compression is used I set it to 9 o'clock but seldom use compression

Goldline

WIDE POS
EQ -3 Bass   +4 treble
Mic Gain 12 o'clock
Compression always ON 12 o'clock

I try to keep the mic gain low enough to see only 1/2 to 3/4 in the ALC
range and if the compressor is used always less than
5db.................concerning mic gain and compression lower is better.

Both mic's work very well on my Pro II and also on a Pro.
