Mike, I am not familiar with W&W. Could you provide a url or phone number?
Was told but cannot confirm that an outfit called BatteryTech supplies a NMh
replacement for the stock BP173 Nicad. Their web site shows no category
for radio stuff, so guess I was fibbed to. My W 32A came with a BP173, but
have noted that it takes very little time for it to decrease in voltage from
12 to 9 V at which it ceases to operate even on receive. This without much
Tx, but mostly Rx and powering on and off to set options. Do not know if
high current drain is a characteristic of this radio or the battery is in
bad shape. Is there a simple way to recondition it, so will provide output
longer?. Otherwise the radio seems to work perfectly. Paid $195 for it,
did I pay to much? It certainly appears to be in new condition with no
problem other than perhaps the Nicad battery. Is the W&W pack a direct
repacement, meaning same form, fit and function as the BP173? Since my
reflector message was initiated, have found all accessories to still be
available, but boy are they costly! Thanks for everything and the response.
