Ahhh... now I understand completely.  Yes, at the time, the
NIR-12 WAS the best unit on the market.  I don't know what
happened to them, but they lost it.

Using a 756PROxx, none of the external units do as well.  But
if you ever have the chance to play with a DSP-599zx, I think
you will be surprised at the versatility of the unit.  As I said, 
I use it concurrently on H.F. and on my satellite radio.  I
like the fact that I can assign one input as the primary, and the 
other input can be set to some lower level output in 3dB
steps.  I can switch Pri/Aux input with the push of a button.

However, any DSP unit is better than none at all.  I still use
the Radio shack unit in my mobile.  <grin>
