[Icom] Changing CW Offset in 575

I've been studying my 575 to see if there is a way to change the BFO
frequency offset to match the USB operating frequency, rather than LSB
mode.  I found a mod from a PA station on the web but it seems not to
give the desired results in my radio.  My thought is to re-order the
diode switching signals and retune the inductors for the frequencies I
want. 

Is there a modification so that you don't have to retune 2 KHz when
switching from USB to CW?  Is there a schematic available for the DAS
(a.k.a. BFO) black box in the service manual?  (I've traced out the
circuit as I see it, anybody need a copy?)  What does the acronym 'DAS'
stand for, anyway?
