[Icom] MFJ Voice Keyer with IC 746???

Hi:

Anyone using a MFJ 434 Voice Keyer with an IC 746?  I'm trying to do so and
am having problems.

I've double-checked the internal settings but the problem I am having is
that the rig is keyed when I plug in the voice keyer into the mic input. 
Plug it in- rig keys.  Unplug voice keyer- rig unkeys.

Can anyone help?
