Hans,
Congrats on the new rig. Here is what you need to do. After you
get all of your frequencies programmed, assign all of your 2 meter
frequencies to memory bank "a". Then assign all of your 70cm frequencies
to bank "b". Once you have done that, you can set left side to bank "a"
and the right side to bank "b", and it will only scan frequencies in
those memory banks. I set up a memory bank on mine like that with the
local public service frequencies, so I can talk on one side of the radio
and scan police on the other. BTW, if you get reports of low audio, you
might want to go into initial set mode and reset microphone sensitivity,
it is defaulted to low setting from factory. Hope this helps, and enjoy
your radio.

Subject: [Icom] IC-2720 memories
Santa brought me an IC-2720H for my truck to replace the "radio from
hell", a Yaesu FT-8100R.
One of the things I *DID* like about the Yaesu is that each band (2M and
70cm) has their own independent memory system. On the 2720 it seems
that 2M and 70cm share the same memory system. That kinda sucks when
you want to put the rig into memory scan.
I'd like to scan 2M memories on one side and 70cm memories on the other
side. Has anyone fingered out a way to do that on the 2720?
