Hi Greg,
I went through the same process; IC-756 -> Pro -> Pro II. You can read my
observations here:

You should be able to get around $1100 for your IC-756, considering that you
have it fitted out with extra filters. AES and HRO do trade-ins, and may
have used 756Pro's in stock; it may be worthwhile to contact them. You
should be able to find a good used Pro for approximately $1600 to $1700.

Subject: [Icom] IC-756 or an Original Pro
Hello all,
I am seeking opinions from the minds of the Icom faithfull. I am the proud
and very satisfied owner of an original IC-756 with both Icom SSB filters ,
and the W2ENY AM filter. I have been considering a PRO. Not the Pro II
(can't afford it). Is the original Pro a big enough leap forward to put up
with the hassle of trying to sell my rig first, then trying to find a
equally nice PRO, dealing with all the shipping ect?? Or should I bide my
time, be a happy camper, and leave well enough alone? Also what would your
opinions be of the worth of my radio package? and that of a NICE original
PRO? sorry for all the bandwidth. All coments are welcome.
