[Icom] Need Ic746 filter advice

For what it's worth Mike... And here I differ in opinion from our good
friend and guru... Adam (AB7OJ)...

I LIKE wider filters... Even in contesting... I've used a pair of 2.8s
in my 751A and in my 781 and prefer the better fidelity... I'm an
advocate of the slightly wider filters and letting the DSP between your
ears do the signal separation... But I seem to be in the minority ;-) I
do think that the 3.3 might be too wide... As everything you need to
hear passes through at 2.8... A 3.3 would give better low end response
at the expense of poorer carrier rejection and a bit too much "rumble"
on a crowded band. In any case, a "matched pair" usually results in best
passband control operation.
