Owning an IC-765 and having written a program to interface to it, I can=20
yes, and no. The command set for the 756Pro II is a super set of the that=20
for the 765. However, I can quickly think of at least 2 items which might=20
keep it from functioning.

First is the address of the radio. Icom has defined the rig address of each=
=20
of their radios. If the 756 program allows the user to change that=20
parameter or you can change the address of the 765 to that which the=20
program expects, then that hurdle can be overcome. BTW: the 765 address is=
=20
settable with a dip-switch accessible on the bottom along the front panel.

Second, as long as the 756 program doesn't use a feature which the 765 is=20
missing, then there's a chance. For example, the 756 command set allows the=
=20
reading of the s-meter value whereas the 765 doesn't. If the 756 program=20
were to use a changing of the meter to determine that the radio is ready,=20
then it wouldn't work with the 765.

I suggest that you contact the author.
