} 455kHz IF and 706 has 9MHz. This indicate more
} engineer work than just removing th PA-section.
Likewise, a receive current drain of 0.45 amps instead of
1.5 amps. One third the power consumption is a GOOD thing for
a battery operated rig. Also, the ability to maintain 5 watts
of output all the way down to 9 Vdc is another NICE battery
oriented feature.
While this rig may draw from their IC-706 experience (I should
hope so), it is clear from the feature set that it's not just
a stripped 706. The real question is: How rushed were they?
