Jim, it looks like a expensive proposition. However way
you solve the problem. I have a F-250 power stroke, 2002.
I tried a friends 706 MK2G in the truck, noise city. As
you may not know the FT 100 has a noise blanker that works.
I installed a FT 100 in my truck. NO noise, no s meter
movement, things work fine. I also use a High Sierra antenna
You will have to do proper grounding and a first class
installation. For power distribution I use a West mountain
Radio power distributing block (rig runner 4012) connected
directly to the battery. The only changes, I added several
toriods where I connected to the battery and again just
before the power cord connects to the rig runner. Probably
over kill adding the toriods but since I knew I had a
problem I was trying to do a first class job.
As a added bonus on the FT 100 you will not have to run
the engine to keep good audio as voltage drops.
