Subject: RE: [Icom] RE: M obile Noise Supression Help Needed
I have enjoyed reading the group's effort on
mobile noise suppression but I have a more
unique problem.
I have a 97 Ford F350 Power Stroke diesel
and I have an ungodly amount of engine noise
especially on 80 and 40, usually S-7 and S-5
or so on the other bands.
The noise appears to be coming thru the antenna,
which is a High Sierra Screw Driver. I have
taken advice from others and eliminated the
possibility that the remote cable is the problem,
(connected the head directly to the radio).
I have connected grounds from the frame to the
bed of the truck, the cab, and the engine.
The noise sounds like spark plug noise which
is impossible for a diesel.
I will greatly appreciate any help and suggestions.
