[Icom] Icom , what's the real 2720 story?

Hi George,
In an endeavour to put this thread to bed, I have just run an AltaVista
translation of the Icom Japan IC-2720 page. This will serve as an ex
cathedra decree that the radio exists! (It should also stop the
"kvetching"). I am sure that the IC-2720 will be available in North America
as soon as regulatory approval has been obtained.
I am cleaning up the translation, and will post it to my icom page as soon
as it is presentable.
EIA receiver intermod rejection at 20 kHz offset is, as they say, a whole
'nuther smoke. We shall see. In the meantime, I am sticking to my Icom
land-mobile gear.

Take a look at
http://www.archi.is.tohoku.ac.jp/~ooba/ja7ude/hamfair2002/icom.htm
and get the latest on the 2720 after you get past the new IC-703 stuff.
