Hmmm!  So you would like the manufacturers to never lower the price of
any gear you or your friend bought.  I'm quite sure it was NOT a
philanthropic gesture from Icom when they lowered the price.  The
economics of consumer electronics sure have changed in the last 30 years.
The $1750 756PRO hears everything the 756PROII does but once the PROII
came out it lost some of its "coolness".  Not sure if the lost "coolness"
was worth $1150.

Just my $.02.
