Jim,
You may also want to check out your radio room. Testing the 706 once on a
mobile setup, a small 4 inch hi-fi speaker mounted on the floor in the rear
passenger compartment which was well carpeted, gave a much much better sound
than in my home QTH.
It was as if I changed the AM filters, removed the heterodynes, and gave a
more relaxing sound. The home radio room had concrete walls that bounced the
sound and gave a sharp, uncomfortable audio.

I have decided to add an outboard speaker to my 756PROII. Of course, ICOM
offers the SP-20 ($249 list) and the SP-21 ($119) list. Hard to believe the
small amount of audio filtering the SP-20 provides is useful given the notch
feature on the PROII but was wondering what others think?

Or, what other products besides the ICOM speakers should I consider? Other
thoughts also appreciated.
