[Icom] IC-718 AGC Issue

Well it looks like several people are now beginning to speak out about the
bad AGC issue with the IC-718. I wondered how long that was going to take.
I sold mine just because the AGC release time was way to fast for
comfortable SSB or CW listening. I understand the very early IC-718 did not
have the very fast AGC release time circuit change that was done to
accommodate the Digital modes like Pactor or Amtor. Icom offered no help
with the matter when I talked to them about it. This is the biggest fault
with this little rig. Other than that is not a bad little radio for the
money. OH yes they should have made it possible to plug in the optional IF
filter rather than have to remove a board and solder it in. We are well
past that era I thought.
