I first had problems with my 756P with the heat, and, basically was told
not too worry. I taped a full immersion glass themometer on the top of the
rig with the bulb over the vent at the front of the rig, ie just above the
anologue meter.
Made observations, turned on the transmit for awhile when it reached 40
celcius. Noted that the high temp was only when the ambient temp was
high. That is late summer evenings when listening for awhile.
I have bought a second hand CPU fan that I plan on installing on top of the
vent to help exhaust the heat.
