[Icom] Additional Info, Icom (HM-36) Hand Mic

Thanks for the advice all. I cracked the mic that came with the
'PRO and there it was, a slug of compressed cotton. For
curiosity's sake, I pulled apart an HM95 (TT version w/RJ45
plug). No slug.

The fix is simple and takes about 5 minutes. Crack the mic and
split the shells. The mic cartridge sits inside a wide rubber
washer, and the washer sits inside a hole in a thick plate. Pull
the rubber washer out of the plate, and *then* pull the mic out
of the washer. Its all just a press fit. Poke the cotton slug
out of the washer. You just need to be gentle. Stuff it back
together and you are done.

I suspect the cotton slug was in there for wind suppression or
to limit "breathy-ness".
