Hello Bill.

>>>Instead of honing, and improving, their operating skills, far too many=
 =

of today's hams seem to be more into the "my rig's newer than your rig" =

mindset. Apparently, they simply cannot rest until they have the latest =

and "greatest" rig available.<<<

Hear hear!

Seems that today folks would rather talk about the paper specs on thier
latest toy than actually USE it! =

>>>Which would be fine if they kept it long enough to become proficient i=
n
it's =

operation and if they didn't spend so damn much time talking about it!<<<=
 =

   =

Naw... ham gear is for BUYING an BRAGGING ABOUT; it's NOT for using! If=

ya actually USE it, ya lower the resale value... fingerprints will take=

off 20% !
Besides, if ya keep a rig more than 6 months, you're throwing away money =
on
depriciation, and the suckers... Ahhh... I mean, PROSPECTIVE BUYERS,
will
find out just how doggy the paper specs REALLY ARE on it, when compared t=
o
the NEXT Super Radio that comes down the pike... and the resale drops
further!

I just LOVE these guys, really. They keep me stocked in bargain rigs,
complete
with the original cartons! ;o)

Ever notice that these folks usually have a second, "junker" rig that the=
y
actually
use? Ya NEVER hear 'em on the air with thier latest toy; they're on the
junker,
TALKING about the latest toy! <<GRIN>>

SURE tip - off on these folks...

When they talk about the faults and problems on a hunk of gear, it's base=
d
on
paper specs comparison. You NEVER hear 'em talk about stuff that cropped
up while actually USING the beast!

That's why I never work 75 metres... the band seems to have been taken
over
by the Paper Shufflers.

What the hell... if your computer is "obsolete" by the time ya get it ho=
me
from the =

store, I guess the same mindset can follow on other high tech stuff... =

PS- Can I brag about MY latest toy? I just got a GREAT Heathkit DX-100! =

;o)
