The UX-14 plugs into the rig where the parallel interface (EX-309 I
think?) would go. AFAIK, the UX-14 just translates between the old
parallel format and the CI-V serial format. If you dig up information on
the parallel data format, you should be able to find out what you need
to know. There was an article written years ago about interfacing a C64
using the parallel interface, I think in Compute! magazine. I used to
have a copy of it, which I used as reference when I interfaced my Apple
][ to my R71A before I got the UX-14, is this dating things? ;-)

I will have to dig around and see if I can locate my copy. But a search
on the web will probably turn something up as well, and much more
quickly than I can locate a 15 year old piece of paper...
