As for the 6L6 rig, tnx fer the info! Both of those tube rigs I have there
came straight from CQ, so if there was anything wrong, I don't know about
it :^) I think the one we're talking about was an Ameco AC-1... may have
been the Stovepipe Annie though.

BUT - being an olde guy (65) - 50 ma is about all a poor little 6V6 can
take, as I recall. A 6L6 has the same pin out with quite a bit more
power capability. Good conservative power supply rating at 200 ma.
Actually there are other similar beam power tubes tubes with the same
pins: 6F6, 6K6, 6Y6. The 6AQ5 is the miniature style 6V6 and has a much
higher top frequency rating.
I have had a lot of fun with this type of circuit!
