In it, it stated that the digital commercial radios do not include analog FM..wrote to the editor to correct the article and also CC'ed the author. Bob, K1IW, wrote me back and said he DID state in his original article that yes, digital radios do include analog fm! ARRL/ QST charged his article to be wrong! Dee Dee Dee (as Carlos Mencia would say..) I had them do the same thing to me a number of years ago in a letter to the editor. They had some decency to contact me and let me approve it. Bob on the other hand did not receive that courtesy according to his reply to me!! Way to go HQ!!!! Dumb down the amateur service even more...no wonder more and more professional companies don't want to deal with even hams who ARE pros!! QST used to be technically correct.... ..nope not anymore! This was totally stupid. As someone who took journalism in school and as a member of Quill and Scroll, this is totally against all rules of quality journalism and reporting.. Guess I need to throw away my P25 and other digital radios. Those FM analog channels programmed in don't work according to QST..wow...... ;) I bet they don't publish my letter to the editor..wanna bet?.. If they do, it makes Bob look stupid...which he was not!!!! Wait, was the entire article the April Fool's article?? OR did QST just make ITSELF the fool in the eyes of professionals?? (Yes to the latter!) once the truth is known??? Seems HQ is wanting to hide a lot of truth these days..
