The following are open user codes on the Beaumont-Port Arthur-Orange WB5ITT
444.5 repeater:
*80 Time of Day
*5 + up to 32 digits (donot include D on a 16 button pad; that is the only
digit it will not readback) and unkey activates the DTMF readback (IE:
keying up and entering *5123456 and unkey, the controller reads back
"123456"....)
And more to come! Including S meter readback and HF thru 6m (and maybe +2m)
all mode remote base....work the world or the Hurricane Net from your UHF
HT/mobile (remote base available to qualified users and only on shared
basis), closed autopatch/911 Fuzz Buzz (yeah I know....who needs it?? BUT if
your cell is dead and the patch is there?? Hey, can't hurt!) plus IRLP node
and of course NEWSLINE...Trying to automate Newsline on site via the IRLP PC
which is built and being tested now.
These codes will also be duplicated in the planned sister machines of
29.68-, 146.34/94, 224.5- and 224.8- as well as 444.8- Beaumont and
Conroe/Houston.
Please be sure to ID when using any current and future user commands on the
system (as required by Part 97 rules)
AND special thanks to:
Ricky Reese, owner of United Communications, Inc. - Beaumont for the shared
use of the antennas/feedlines at the 600foot tower site, N5STK (for the use
of his "tech bench"...aka: his garage where 444.5 was final assembled and
checked! ;), IFR/Aeroflex Communications for the IFR-1200 and -1500 service
monitors, KE5O, The Entergy Amateur Radio Society (of which I was the 1st
president in the 1990s), W5YCY (our CPA and financial advisor/sec-treas of
TRA), N5BZM, KTRK-TV ABC-13 in Houston (where the GE Mastr II originally
came from, via KHMX MIX96.5 Houston in the late 1990s, after serving as 13's
engineering repeater on their 2000 foot tower in Missouri City for 20
years!), KE5ZQJ - whose kitchen table is where the GE was initially was
tuned up on 444.5 and all those in the background who supported this
project!..............& we aint done yet! :)
I personally thank you for the support and kind words.
Enjoy....and have FUN! That's what this hobby/service is about...
BTW want to buy a UHF radio cheap? I have several available..22 channel/30w
out Midland 70-1526Bs with scan for $50 and newer Kenwood TK-880s w/30w, 32
groups of 250 channels each, scan AND they also receive commercial UHF LTR
trunking as a nice scanner (can't buy that at Radio Shack)...for $150 tuned
