======================================
The largest Ham Radio event within the Texas Gulf Coast area happens this
coming weekend, on Saturday March 6:
The Brazos Valley Amateur Radio Clubs -- Greater Houston Ham Fest --
All Hams, and non-Hams, are invited to attend and enjoy all of the
activities. The list of things to do is long: a large free tail gate
area, the indoor table sale area, VEC testing. Operate the HF special
event station W5H, attend technical talks on a wide variety of topics,
learn station building tricks at the HANDS ON table demos, participate in
the exciting AMSAT satellite ops demos, join the fox hunt, eat great food
at the DX Kids Café, visit the commercial vendors, the ARRL tables, the
club and special interest group tables and see the emergency vehicles on
display. Also, buy tickets for the all day raffle with prizes every 15
minutes and the semi-grand prize and grand prize at close of the event at
1:30. All this for a $5 entrance fee.
Come on out, stay an hour, stay the whole day, we got you covered for food
and drink and entertainment. It is THE place to be, along the Gulf Coast on
March 6th, if you are, or want to be, a Radio Amateur. Talk-in is 146.94 or
set your GPSs on the Fort Bend County Fair Grounds just 1 mile south of
I-59 on State Highway 36 in Rosenburg, Texas. Everyone in BVARC hopes that
you will come on out and take part in our 8th annual GREATER HOUSTON HAM
FEST. Visit www.houstonhamfest.org for on-line table sales, tickets and all
of the details.
