The SX-71 has been spoken for and will be going to a new QTH -- another boat
anchor lover who agrees that real radios glow in the dark. Thanks to
everyone that was interested.

Dan

Subject: [HoustonHam] Hallicrafters SX-71 In Unknown Condition Ready ForGood
Home In Houston Area

I have a Hallicrafters SX-71 Receiver that is in unknown, but questionable
condition, that I got out of an estate several years ago with hopes to
restore, but now think it is time that it goes to a serious collector or
someone that would like to try to restore it. The SX-71 covers 538 KHz - 35
MHz and 46 - 56 MHz, AM/CW/NBFM. This is the black face model, similar to
the one at http://www.hug-a-bug.com/SX-71.html .

This receiver is showing its age, but looks like it can be restored. It is
missing the far left CW Pitch knob, but otherwise looks intact. Since I do
not know its history or electrical condition, and do not have a Variac, I am
not going to try to power it up. Weighing almost 35 pounds, the shipping
costs would make it hardly worth the additional expense to pack and ship, so
I prefer to make it available for pick-up or delivery in the Houston area.

Anyone interested can reply here, or contact me directly to WA5ANF AT
sbcglobal DOT net

Dan
