BTW my earlier answer was typed from my ATT Tilt smart phone so the typing was not my usual style, now I am on my laptop...ahhh full size keyboard :)

The Channel and other info is called PSIP (Program and System Information Protocol)...Google it and Wikipedia comes up as the 1st choice and has a lot of good info I wont bother to retype here...
AVS Forum has the final channel list for post DTV transition....You can find it in this forum which also covers any last minute changes, etc (Like KHOU 11 staying on 11 with their digital but reducing power because of a cochannel 11 near Victoria): http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=823166

>The ch info on dtv channels is virtual...it can be anything!!! Alll dtv stations can keep their xx-a designation after the analog goes away. This was done to cause 'less confusion' among the viewing public.
