Warrene Hanks Marshall

WARRENE HANKS MARSHALL went home June 1, 2008 after a prolonged illness.
Warrene was born in Shaw, Mississippi, on Feb. 21, 1943 and was the daughter
of Warren and Lorise Hanks. She attended Delta State College in Cleveland,
Mississippi. She married her high school sweetheart, Kent Marshall, on April
12, 1964. They had two children a son, Cass, and a daughter, Elizabeth.
Warrene worked as an aide at Yeager Elementary School in CyFair ISD and was
a member of Houston North West Baptist Church. She lived for thirteen years
with cancer, and was an example of living life well by reliance on her
Christian upbringing and principles. Her grand-children were her delight.
She had a happy little laugh, a gentle spirit, and always put others before
herself. She was soft-spoken and giving, and decidedly family-oriented. She
is survived by her devoted husband, Kent, of Houston, Texas; son and
daughter-in-law Cass and Stephanie Marshall, of Spring, Texas; daughter and
son-in-law Elizabeth and Mark Bridges, of Basalt, Colorado; and five
grandchildren, Gracie, Burke, and Adelaide Bridges, and Cade and Macy
Marshall. She is also survived by Frank and Betty Abston, and Herman and
Dolores Hanks of Gladewater; James and Sandra Hanks of Leland, Mississippi;
Jerry Hanks of Shreveport, La; and Charles and Pat O'Bryant of Mephis TN.
Visitation will be held at Klein's Funeral Home at 16131 Champion Forest
Drive from 6-9 PM on Tuesday, June 3, with a celebration service there the
next day at 10 AM by Bro. Bob Moore. After transport to Carthage, there will
be a visitation from 6-8 at Hawthorn Funeral Home. The final funeral service
will be held at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Carthage, Texas at 2 PM on
Thursday, with Rev. Freddie Mason officiating. Immediately following, Rev.
Jeremy Roberts will officiate in the graveside service at Six Mile Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Six Mile Cemetery
Association, c/o Sharon Holcomb, POB 603, Judson, TX 75660.
