[Houston Transtar]

The amateur radio role for Katrina relief has changed slightly.  As
you may know we are now only staffing from 7A-7P daily.  This greatly
reduces the load on the Greater Houston Amateur Community.

Operators are still needed for all shifts at Transtar, Reliant Park &
George R. Brown Conv Ctr. (GRB).  Please call the Transtar radio room
at 713.881.3169 and volunteer for a position.

Most positions are relatively low drag and equipment requirements low
as well.  If you are working the Transtar positions all radio
equipment is provided.  Both Reliant & GRB require a UHF - HT with a
spare battery preferably.  Metro does have a few loaner HTs for use at
Reliant if you do not have one.
