I received the following on the NARS info request email address and am
posting it on behalf of Steve:
I'm writing to amateur radio clubs around the Houston area. My dad lives
in Houston (southwest part of town) and has been an amateur radio
operator since the late 40's. He is no longer active but still has some
equipment that we need to dispose of so that they can downsize.
Equipment includes a Viking Ranger transmitter, an amateur band receiver,
a match box, and some test equipment (RC tester?). The equipment is old
and is based on vacuum technology. As far as I know it still works but
can make no guarantees. He also has a telescoping antenna tower. Each
section is around 8-10 feet. The three sections together allow the
antenna to be cranked up to a height of 20-30 feet, as I recall.
As an electronics engineer, I prefer not to take this to be recycled.
Hence, I was wondering if any of the clubs there have any interest in
such old equipment, free of charge to whomever would haul it all away.
If interested, please contact me, Steve Durden, at sa_durden at juno.com.
Best Regards,
Steve
Steve indicated that this is an 'all or nothing offer' - he is not
interested
in parting the equipment out. Please contact Steve directly at the email
