Stephen,

The only 222 repeater actually on the air that I am aware of is located a
little west of Tomball - the Rosehill repeater on 222.84/222.24, no tone.
The repeater location is about half way between Tomball and US 290 on
FM2920.

The owner leaves it open, but there's almost no activity on it. Coverage
isn't too good either - the antenna is pretty low on the tower. I have been
able to hit it from Hooks airport with a 300 mw handy with an aftermarket
antenna, and from my home in far NW Houston with a 1/4 wave antenna and
about 15 watts. I listen to it from time to time, and I've announced my
presence, but no takers...

Is there any 222 MHz activity in the Houston area?
I've seen several 222 MHz repeaters listed from
various sources, but haven't heard much on them.

73 and GREAT DX!
