The latest "idea" by the VHF FM Suckiety is to publish the "bandplans" on a
certain publication...PROBLEM is the "plans" shown haven never been accepted
by the membership AS required by the ByLaws....Esepcially the 6mtr band
which has NEVER been changed from the original 1980 plan of 52-54 Mhz and
-1MHz offsets (even though the FCC opened 51-52 Mhz for rptrs, the Suxiety's
plan was NEVER changed..when I proposed a change to the -1.7MHz plan thatn
all areas under MACC are now following (NW and Central US), the procedure to
allow comment and then a vote was NEVER allowed....Nope, since it was not a
"Dillo" approved plan or idea, it was killed...especially after yours truly
was not relected to the Board of Directors!).
Also the proposed published plans also lead someone to believe the VHF FM
jerks have dominion over the weak signal/non rptr segments of 10, 6 and
2mtrs...I DON'T THINK SO SCOOTER! FCC rules do not give coordination groups
ANY such power at all...the only place they have ANY say is in matters of
repeater and aux link coordinations....
THIS proposal MUST be defeated for the above reasons and to show the jerks
on the BOD of the Suxiety that it should follow it's OWN rules before trying
to enforce new ones on the non-educated and the willing.
BTW, IF you really believe that RF stops at the county or state line, then
the 6mtr plan as they have it is for you...
INPUTS and OUTPUTS on the same channels!!! YES!!!! Think about it.....maybe
I should put a rptr on with a 146.34 OUTPUT..
I bet I would be the most hated person in 5 states real quick!!! But that is
the thinking of this "plan"...the Society in its heyday was a true technical
group....too bad that is gone and all is left is egos and politics....
