[HoustonHam] Stake-Mounting a 20M Hamstick Antenna

I'm trying to come up with a "different" design
for a 20M "Hamstick" antenna.
Could I use a standard 3/8 x 24 mount (the type
with 4 bolts that are used to secure the mount
to a vertical small-diameter mast) along with
several 1/4-wave radials?
I'm thinking I could bolt the mount approximately
3-4 inches above ground to a copper ground rod
and attach the radials (at least 4) to the mount
bolts.
I would be using a ZM-2 QRP tuner to match the
system to my 20M xcvr.
Would this set-up work, or am I beginning to
lose my grip on QRP antenna design?
All opinions are welcome.
Thanks!
