The two Lubbock radio clubs, Lubbock Contest Club and
Lubbock Amateur Radio Club, will be hosting a special events station in
honor of Buddy Holly. This will be in conjunction with the 45th
anniversary of his death in a plane crash in 1959.
Operations will be from Thursday Jan 29 thru February 3, 2004 on 7260,
14260, and 21360 using the call W5B. On Tuesday Feb 3, 2004 the
operation will conducted from the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock. As
part of the special events, we will have the real "Peggy Sue" operating
from the station at various times and Bill Griggs, authority on the life
and times of Buddy Holly, will also be at the station to answer
questions.
Operating times are as follows;
Thursday Jan 29 7-10 pm CST
Friday Jan 30 7-10 pm CST
Saturday Jan 31 10 AM CST-10 PM CST
Sunday February 1 10 AM CST-10 PM CST
Monday February 2 7 pm CST-10 pm CST
Tuesday February 3 10 AM-10 PM CST
