[HomeBrew] Less costly way to replace a 6C10 for my Station monitor?

I need to replace the triple triode, 6C10, in my old heath HO-10 station
monitor. But with prices $50 and upwards to $120 each, I'm not inclined
to feed that monster. (It seems the same tube is used in some
guitar/bass tube amplifiers and enthusiast for such, are willing to pay
that kind of money for replacements).
Being from the old-timers ham community (meaning cheap), I'm inclined to
make a small adapter to plug in on top of the chassis, consisting of two
inexpensive dual triodes, not using the second side of the second tube.
Not also inclined to "reinvent the wheel", I wonder if anyone has
already done this that I could gain from their experience?
Your attention is appreciated.
