OK, I'm #3...
David In NW Oregon -- W7DBH (Darn Bad Ham)

Been building stuff for 62 years (started at 12). Had a great "Elmer",
W7YKW,Jack, in Yakima WA.
--My name is legally changed since that era. Got my call back in about
1992 on the vanity program & passed the Extra exam.

Grew up on "Command" transmitters = ARC-5, etc. First receiver was a
Hallicrafters 5 tube superhet = S-38B.
Those 1625(807) final tubes in those ARC-5's glowed in the dark real good
with 950 VDC on the plates  & ~300 watts input.

Latest build was 20 years ago ... putting all my gear in a 1992 Subaru
Wagon IC-706 & screwdriver antenna...and transferred it twice to lower
mileage 1992 Subaru wagons.

I want VERY MUCH to learn how to use Linux (maybe Mint?)

Gotta run, but I am watching the thread as the days go on.
