I will add the reason for my approach of using the CT/related circuitry, is
I would like to monitor the AC current remotely.

Subject: [HomeBrew] Circuit for a 30 amp AC current meter?

** Please do NOT cross-post messages when posting to HOMEBREW **

I have a project for which I have some of the main components, but do not
yet have a good circuit in which to utilize them.

I would like to make a 30 amp AC current meter for my portable generator. I
have a 30 amp current sample (CT) which produces .333 VAC at 30 amps. It is
said to be quite linear. I also have an analog DC 100 milliamp meter (I
have other values too), which I would like to display the resulting
currents on. I can make a new calibrated face for the meter.

It seems I need a full wave "precision rectifier" circuit using opamps to
overcome the non-linearity of diodes in low voltage areas, but I have not
come across a circuit which will do this and also drive the 100 ma DC meter.

Did a rather extensive web search, but did not find a circuit I felt was
applicable. Maybe my lack of experience on the subject kept me from seeing
such.

Anyone have any experience, suggestions or alternatives along these lines?

Your attention is appreciated.
