[HomeBrew] SMD PCB De-Fluxing

Hi and thanks for reading.

I'm nearing completion of soldering the components on my first SMD project.
I used a flux-pen to apply the flux and have a couple of queries
relating to the cleaning off of the sticky mess from the pcb.

I've bought a Servisol De-Flux 160 aerosol but unsure whether after it's
use I need to clean the pcb again with something else to remove the
Servisol residue, distilled water perhaps?

The other query is; there's a few components left to solder which are
unsealed, like some tiny smd inductors and potentiometers. Could these
be damaged by the cleaning routine? If so, maybe I should clean the
board now and then solder these remaining components afterwards?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
