Good Evening All,

I have been playing with a radio circuit for a few days now. It’s called
the Franklin receiver. This is a regenerative radio that does not use a
ticker coil for feedback, but a second tube to act as a polarity
inverter. After a few false starts with the L/C combination for the coil
I was able to get the receiver to tune the entire BCB. I am using a 6SJ7
Pentode as the Detector, and a ½ of a 6SN7 dual Triode as the polarity
inverter. The second half of the 6SN7 is used as audio amplifier. The
coil is a loop with sixteen turns about eight inches on each side. I am
amazed how well this setup works. I can pull in just about every station
form NYC and the local stations will run you out of the shack. The radio
is on a bread board right now. I am going to make a wooded base for it,
and mate it to a mono Hi-Fi amplifier. Has anyone else ever played with
this type of radio? I would like to hear from you.
