I'm getting back into it myself. Years ago I made several boards with THICK good toner on plain cheap paper. Used bleach water to soak it and gently washed away the paper. Messy. Use new toner cartridges, not refilled ones.
I tried several other methods over the years and have settled in on the PulsarProFX method. (add dot com ...) I've encouraged several others to give it a try and all have good results even with fairly fine traces. I'm so impressed with it I got their lettering kit as well, can't wait to try putting color scales on my meters!
The one thing I would recommend with this method is start out with their laminator. After you get used to it you can improvise from there. Oh, and new toner cartridges in your laser printer - refills don't seem to fill well.
